Echizen lacquer float
Echizen lacquer floats start from the production of wood, and the craftsmen of Echizen Shikki perform all the work from the groundwork such as cloth dressing to the final process such as lacquer work, lacquer work, and wax color.
The newly made floats are rich in Kawada lacquer, which is a tradition of 1500 technology. This float, which is also the culmination of the skills of traditional craftsmen, can be said to be an unpriced "treasure" of the region.
You can see this Echizen lacquer float at Urushi no Sato Kaikan. Please come and visit the panel that captures the scenery of the Kawada area in each season.
